Several years ago slipcovers reappeared as well as the need for more frequently cleanable chairs and couches. Whether you were attracted to the new look of a loser less tailored fit or the almost upholstered fit depended on your own personal style.

Now, a few years later, slipcovers are showing up in every room in the house. Slipcovered head and foot boards for beds make the bedroom more practical than ever. Then there’s the continued importance of duvet covers that slip over the comforter to protect or change the look easily. Even items such as toaster covers and slipcovered chair backs with ties have shown up in kitchens. In the bathroom toilet tank covers, seat covers, and tissue box covers are being made to offer a more interesting and versatile dimension to accessorizing the bathroom with a custom touch.

Camouflaging unattractive areas like shelves full of storage and unused radiators can be neatly disguised when enclosed in fabric covers. The look can pull together multifunctional playroom or home office areas.

Also with the edition in coverable items comes new fabrics to do it with. 100% prewashed cotton in decorator weights top the list of desirable fabrics for slipcovers. Of course the interest is still on piping or cording in contrast fabrics and colors applied at the seams. This serves as a fashionable as well as functional feature as cording adds to the durability of the seams over time.

A good decorator sewing workroom should be able to slipcover anything. Challenge us at DECOR CUSTOM PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, INC. to fill your slipcover needs this season.
